It's Almost Springtime!! (psych it snowed!) APRIL 27, 2015

April 27, 2015

Hi Mom and Dad!!

I love the pictures that you posted.  I am so happy to see that everyone is doing well even if it was a chilly week!  I love Will and Drew's engagement pictures and I couldn't read the little blurb about them but I'm guessing it was great!  :)  This week was the last week of transfers where everyone gets moved around or stays!  I am getting to stay in PA this next transfer which I am thankful for because it really is such a blessing to know and get to know these people who have been through so much and are still so loving and caring.  I hope that I can show my love and Heavenly Father's love for them each day.  I read a talk this week that Elder Holland gave at the MTC and it's a typed up one from someone who recorded it and did their best to type and I think they did a pretty great job. Also dad I may or may not answer those questions :P  We will have to see!

It was about being on missions and the miracles that it brings to your life and the changes if makes to your heart.  It was about trusting fully in God and realizing that as we put this tiny bit of our life in the Lord's hands completely and give these months to Him, we are helping with one leg of this race that is being run by all the apostles and all the presidents of the church before us.  I feel especially honored to run this race, even if it is for a short leg, for the prize is that of the souls of my brothers and sisters.  It is truly for the children of God.  That means this race and this war against evil is a battle we are either all in or not on the Lord's side.  I know that we can each do more and sometimes we're too tired or too weak or too sad but we have to remember that our strength to keep enduring and living and sharing the gospel is blessed by all the powers of Heaven.  In times of hardship is when we become acquainted with God and through those hard times we can look to that source of strength that will always be with us if we do all we can to live those things we know and help uplift those people and places that God's trusted us with and given us stewardship over by being saints that can reach out to His children.

Well that was not the turn I thought this email would take but I am always so proud of you both as my parents in living the gospel in all aspects of your lives and trying to magnify your calling and do those things that we promise to do in Mosiah 18 as we enter in the covenants of baptism.  I love you both so much and will continue to pray for the Sakowski's and the Adamo's.  A very dear friend I met just 6 weeks ago is finished with his mission and leaves today so I'm pretty sad and I asked if losing friends every 6 weeks is always this hard and Sister Wray said yeah it is :(  His brother is currently serving is the Pittsburg mission though so if you get an Elder Miller you need to scoop him right up and take some pictures and tag him on facebook!  I love you Mom.  I love you Dad <3 I miss you both so much and can't wait to Skype on Mother's Day!!! Also that scripture is so easy peasy Dad!!! It's of course Alma 43:2!! I love you all heaps and hug and cuddle the animals for me!! :)

Love,
Sister Kerry Anne Sherksnas
